Euro Disney/ Disneyland Paris
The French Disneyland is officially called Disneyland Paris, however it is actually in the town of Marne-le-ville, a town created especially for the park, 40km/25mi to the west of Paris.
The Disneyland parks are France, and also Europe's biggest tourist attraction, attracting around 15.4 million visitors each year (combined between the two parks). So don't expect to be there alone.
What to see
The main, and really the only reason, for heading to Disneyland Paris is to visit Disneyland theme parks
At Marne-le-ville there are actually two parks which make up Disneyland Pairs complex. The first is Disneyland Park which is based closely on Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It's main rides are Space Mountain 2 (which unlike the California version contains "360 degree inversions"), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sleeping Beauty's castle, It's a Small World, the Teacups, Buzz Lightyear Lazerblast, among many others. This is the traditional "Disneyland" experience.
The second park is Walt Disney Studio Park (the quieter of the two parks). Themed as a working film studio there are a collection of different rides built around this theme. The major rides include Armageddon - the special effects, Rock and Roll Roller Coaster with Aerosmith, the studio tram tour, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, RC Racer, and Toy Solider Parachute Drop.
Both parks feature a selection of restaurants (although be warned, the food is of average quality, reasonably expensive and the lines are often quite long).
